A bridge currency is a naming convention used for a basket currency that also acts as a decentralized bridge between networks. The decentralized nature of the bridge allows it to burn & mint currencies after sufficient notarizations/import/export proofs have been processed by the protocol. The first bridge currency was Bridge.vETH, linking the Verus network to Ethereum. The corresponding bridge contract on Ethereum locked assets to be minted on the Verus side. Other bridge currencies (by naming convention) are Bridge.vARRR, Bridge.vDEX, Bridge.Chips.
